.NAME Domains
Established in 2001, the .NAME universal extension is the sole TLD planned for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are famous by. At the beginning, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to reserve john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken third-level domain names remained functional.
Through our company, you can secure your dot NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will be able to alter the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer code from the current domain service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific conditions on who can register a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the idea behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
