In case you want to transfer a domain from one domain registrar to another, you will need a unique transfer authorization code, which may be referred to by many names – an EPP key, an AuthInfo code, a domain name password, and so on. All these names designate the same thing – a code that the domain owner gets from the present registrar and gives to the new one during the order process. Without a valid code, a domain transfer process cannot be initiated and this is one of the safety measures against unauthorized transfers used with all generic and with most country-specific extensions. For better security, the code contains numbers and/or special characters and is case-sensitive, so if you want to transfer one of your domain names, you have to supply the new company with the correct code.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

You can easily get the transfer code for any domain name registered under a semi-dedicated server account if you decide to transfer it away. This can be done through the exact same Control Panel, via which you administer your account, so you won’t have to switch between different interfaces. All you will have to do is visit the domain management section of the Control Panel and click on the EPP button associated with the domain that you wish to transfer, provided that its TLD extension supports transfers with such a code. Our system sends all codes automatically to the domain name registrant’s email address listed in the domain’s WHOIS record, so in case the address that is currently entered is out of date, you can modify it with several mouse clicks without even leaving the Control Panel’s domain management section.
